Open Day
On Saturday 20th September saw a marvelous occasion when the Homefield family set new records for the number of events staged in one day and the number of guests attending.

Aside from the pleasure of whole-school involvement, I enjoyed the delicious honour of sharing the afternoon in the company of the indefatigable Lady Bader and Mrs Rae and the privilege of the presence of Paul Burstow, MP, fresh from his party conference.  I was especially touched by the immediate regard which our new visitors held for the school and by the privilege of presiding over events so meaningful in the historical life of the school.

Lady Bader averred that “Douglas would have loved it,” and Mrs Rae wrote that “John would have been very proud”.

The debt that we all owe to those who preceded us has become ever-increasingly evident throughout the fun of Festival Week in the Summer Term and its culmination on Saturday.

Pictures undoubtedly serve more eloquently than my mere words.  A selection is presented with this newsletter but a yet wider array will be posted on the website and, in due course, within the school.
Should any parent have an appropriate video of the day, we would be pleased to preserve it for posterity.
